When I was a boy, around about this time of year, my Dad would bring down a full bin bag from the attic, put it on what would be a coffee table for the other 48 odd weeks of the hear, plug it in, then pull off the bin liner to reveal our Christmas tree – with tinsel, borbels and faerie already in place (well in the same place that they were the year before and the year before that….indeed the tree looked exactly the same every year).
Tradition is very important to my family but my children are now getting bored of the ‘magic Christmas tree’ trick.
That said, there’s a lot to be said for fake trees, but you can’t beat that lovely smell of pine needles.
Brilliant Idea #85 is a plug-in freshener with the smell of Christmas! Brilliant.
