I suspect we’ve all had that feeling when we pitch an idea to someone – an idea which we are excited about but we see a blank look on their face and it’s obvious they just don’t get it and can’t share our enthusiasm.
That feeling vulnerability when we fail to explain and communicate our idea is, I believe the number one reason why we don’t share our ideas.
[ezcol_2third]That’s why I developed a tool called the Idea Canvas. Just as an artist starts with a blank canvas and gradually builds the layers of paint to reveal the finished picture, we use 5 questions to build up a picture of the idea. It asks you to describe your idea, the problem it solves, who specifically you are solving the problem for and why they would care enough that they will invest in or adopt your idea, how your idea solves it and lastly the steps that you should take to test your idea before you go ahead and build it. So if you have an idea that you are keeping to yourself, or perhaps you have dozens and you want to figure out which are the best, take a look at the canvas below. I have also recorded a video and Soundcloud that describes it.[/ezcol_2third] [ezcol_1third_end][soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/194340722″ params=”auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”200″ iframe=”true” /][/ezcol_1third_end]
