Water from thin air

This is brilliant. An Italian designer, Arturo Vittori has built a device which literally captures water from thin air.

A structure is made of bamboo and is built in a similar way that the locals will have made baskets for centuries. Inside this bamboo structure is what seems to be a huge nylon net. Condensation in the nightime air passes through the structure and the net captures the moisture so it drips down to a container at the bottom. It can capture up to 25 litres of water in one night.

This brilliant idea has the enormous benefits in terms of health for huge parts of the developing World.
